Maroochydore

2019

After school holidays, Rochelle & Evan’s baby shower, catching up with family, hairdresser appointments & farewell dinner at Rochelle’s, packing with the help of 2 girls, we are finally ready to leave.

Managed to leave around 7.30am and missed the work traffic. Had the typical roadworks & one accident involving a young family & a farm truck which happened a few minutes before we were on the scene. Lucky no one was hurt! Stopped for an early lunch at a great little Bakery/Cafe in Paringa. I drove for a few hours from here. Beautiful sunny day for travelling. We arrived at Balranald around 4pm and set up camp. Spaghetti Bolagnaise for dinner. The. RV Park is quite average but is tucked away behind the Tourist Information Centre and is very quiet.

Lunch Stop at Rankins Springs

Stopped in a beautiful park for lunch & coffee break. Interesting little town where almost every shop had closed which was sad to see but did have an interesting museum across the road.

Continued on through a small town Weethalle which was pretty much the same with lots of businesses closed but they did have some amazing silo art work.

Finally arrived at a free camp in Forbes right on the river & sun is shining. Around 20 vans here spread along the river. Tony was very anxious to see if the Crows were playing on our TV tonight, but all is well, he is ready to watch with his glass of red wine ready! Managed a glass of wine on the river before the sun went down.
